CHRISTINE HANRAHAN-BLOOM

CHRISTINE HANRAHAN-BLOOM

Christine ‘Chris’ Hanrahan-Bloom, 56, went home to the Lord on Easter Sunday, April 17, 2022, after a sudden illness. She was surrounded by her loving family who will always cherish her love and memories. She was a loving daughter, sister, wife, mother, and friend.

Chris was born to Michael and Janet (Harris) Hanrahan in Fort Dodge, IA. She attended Fort Dodge public schools, graduating in 1983. After graduation, Chris attended La James College, was the manager of Sears Portrait Studio, and later worked as Manager of Payless Shoes and worked at Tursso Printing before retiring to stay home to be a full-time mother and wife. Chris met her best friend and soulmate, Rich Bloom, when they were teenagers and became inseparable. They dated for ten years before getting married on April 25, 1992, at Grace Lutheran Church, Fort Dodge. They had three children, Caley, Kierstin and Corbin and raised them with love, understanding and care.

Chris loved spending time outdoors by the lake and relaxing by a campfire. She loved reading her Bibles, enjoyed Casey’s pizza, and watching Wheel of Fortune and could often solve the puzzle with only one letter.

Chris was a member of the Daughters of the American Revolution and enjoyed going to Fort Dodge Garden Club with her mom. She was a lifelong member of Christ Lutheran Church. She had several pets and loved all of them. She also loved Dunkin coffee and going to tag sales. Most of all Chris loved her home, her husband, children and mom and they were the center of her life. She always had time for family and friends and never missed a single moment. Chris always found good in everyone and everything.

Chris is survived by her husband Rich, daughters, Caley and Kierstin; and son Corbin; mother Janet Hanrahan, brother Michael (Mike) Hanrahan, and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her father Michael (Mick) J. Hanrahan, grandparents, Chester and Viola Harris, mother-in-law Francesca Bloom, and father-in-law Richard Bloom.

Chris will be greatly missed by all who knew her and loved her but will be remembered in our hearts forever.

Visitation will be at Gunderson Funeral Home on Sunday, May 22, 2022, from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. and a Celebration of Life at Christ Lutheran Church in Fort Dodge on Monday, May 23, 2022, at 2:00 p.m. with Pastor Craig Miller officiating.

Memorials may be directed to the discretion of the family.
