ANITA RAE GUINAN

Anita Rae Guinan (78) of Fort Dodge, Iowa, passed away on Sunday November 21, 2021, at The Mercy Medical Center in Sioux City, Iowa.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be at 1:30 p.m. Saturday, November 27, 2021, at the Holy Trinity Catholic Church. Burial will follow at Corpus Christi Cemetery. A visitation will start at noon until the start of the service at the church. Laufersweiler Funeral Home is serving the family.

Anita is survived by her children; Mary (Brad) Milder of Le Mars, John (Tammy) of Fort Dodge, Janet (Kevin) Canty of Lynbrook, New York. Her five grandchildren; Timothy Jones, Michael Berning, Elizabeth, William and Brooke Canty. Her sisters; Kathy (Dan) Morgan of Corning and Glennis (Verlin) Breon of Glidden.

She is preceded in death by her husband W. Terry Guinan and her parents Dale and Gladys “Joy” (Knight) Behrends.

Anita Rae Behrends was born August 15th, 1943, in Fort Dodge, Iowa, raised and educated in Fonda and graduated from Fonda high school. After high school she went to Tobin Business College. She was united in marriage to W. Terry Guinan in Fort Dodge at Corpus Christi on May 25th, 1963. The couple established their home in Fort Dodge.

Anita was a homemaker and a proud mom, she loved every moment with their kids watching them grow. She and her husband enjoyed traveling and Anita was an avid Bears and Bulls fan. Her caring didn’t stop in the home as she was a part of the Catholic Daughters of America. She truly had a passion for helping others.
