DONALD D. SHACKLETON

Donald D. Shackleton, 87, of Fort Dodge passed away at Trinity Regional Medical Center on Tuesday, August 3, 2021. A celebration of life will be held 2:30 pm Friday, August 6, 2021 at Gunderson Funeral Home & Cremation Services. Visitation will take place prior to the service from 1:30-2:30 pm on Friday.

Donald was born in Bethany, MO on April 28, 1934 to Arlene Shackleton. He was united in marriage to Kathryn Gilpatrick on March 10, 1955 in Decorah, IA. He worked Iowa Beef and Fort Dodge Transmission over the years. He loved his children and grandchildren and spending time with family. He loved camping, fishing and being outdoors.

Donald is survived by his children, Steve (Lou) Shackleton and Sheila (Randy) Balm all of Fort Dodge; his grandchildren, Bronson Konopasek, Ed Svaleson III, Brian (Lisa) Balm, Amber Gambill and Brandon (Pascale) Balm; 11 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild. He was preceded in death by his wife, Kathryn; his mother; his daughter, Sharon Herington; and his infant son, Michael Gene Shackleton.
