RUTH M. LAMBERT

Ruth M. Lambert, 86, formerly of Harcourt, passed away peacefully surrounded by her family Saturday, May 1, 2021 at Paula J. Baber Hospice Home.

Funeral services will be 11:00AM Saturday, May 8, 2021, at First Covenant Church, 201 Ave H, Fort Dodge with Pastor Allan Redenius officiating. Burial will be at Lost Grove Township Cemetery near Harcourt. Visitation will be from 9:00AM Saturday until service time at First Covenant Church, Fort Dodge. Masks are optional. Palmer Funeral Home, Gowrie, is in charge of arrangements.

Ruth Martina Carlson was born on her family farm southeast of Lanyon to Martin and Esther (Lundberg) Carlson on October 12, 1934.

She graduated from Lanyon High School in the spring of 1952. On October 4, 1952, she married her high school sweetheart, Charles, at the Lanyon Covenant Church.

They lived and farmed around Lanyon and Harcourt all their lives. She was a loving homemaker while raising her children. She also worked for the Boston Store and the Trolley Center in advertising. She helped at a preschool and eventually started cleaning houses for people. Chuck and Ruth retired to Friendship Haven in 2015.

Ruth enjoyed decorating her house with antiques that she would find while shopping. She was always a very stylish woman and loved her clothes and jewelry. Ruth and Chuck enjoyed traveling, camping, and antique shopping. She was a lifetime member of the Lanyon Covenant Church. She was active in many capacities, including teaching Sunday school, choir, Covenant Women and making sure the church was decorated and spotless every Sunday.

Ruth is survived by her husband of 68 years, Charles; daughters, Barbara (Dean) Farnham; Dawn Lambert of Fort Dodge; Michelle (Ron) Cummins of rural Webster City; son, Marshall (Donna) Lambert of rural Paton; 7 grandchildren; 9 great grandchildren; sisters, Dorothy (Warren) Dahlstrom; Margaret Opsahl and brother Ted (Mary) Carlson.

She was preceded in death by her parents; sister, Adeline Raudabaugh and brothers-in-law, Glenn Raudabaugh and Rolly Opsahl.

Memorials may be left to the discretion of the family.
