WEBSTER CITY — Lois Woolery, 87, of Ames formerly of Webster City, died Saturday, May 1, 2021 at Accura Heath Care in Ames. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, May 8, 2021 at Foster Funeral & Cremation Center. Burial will follow at Graceland Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. on Friday evening at the funeral home.

Lois Jane Dornath, daughter of Gerhard (George) Jasper Dornath and Engel (Emma) Carolina Ihnen, was born April 30, 1934 in rural Pocahontas County, Iowa. She attended school at St. Paul’s Lutheran in Fort Dodge and Rutland Independent Schools. Lois was united in marriage to Gary Woolery on February 14, 1953 at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Fort Dodge. The couple resided in Webster City until 2011 when they moved to Ames.

She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Steven and Lorraine Woolery of Ames; grandchildren, Hannah and Dana Woolery of Ames; sister, Charlene Nahnsen of Fort Dodge and many nieces and nephews.

Lois is preceded in death by her husband of 62 years, Gary in 2015; her parents; siblings and their spouses, Minnie & Gerhard Zimmerman, Henry Dornath, Tena & Dale Niemond, Eleanor & William Sandvig, Rieka & Glen Eichelberger, Edna & Elmer Eichelberger, Marlys & Earl Litwiller, Jasper Dornath, LuVerne Dornath, and Luther Nahnsen.

She was a long-time member of St. Paul’s Lutheran in Webster City, where she was a member of the choir. When moving to Ames, they transferred to Bethesda Lutheran of Ames. Lois enjoyed spending time with family and planting flowers.
