JOHN F. LARSON

A Celebration of Life will be 3:00 to 7:00 p.m. Monday, May 10, 2021, at Kennedy Park in Fort Dodge. Laufersweiler is serving the family.

John is survived by his wife, Dee Larson; son, Zach (Bridget) and their children Landon, Gavin, and Addison of Urbandale; daughter, Lindsay (Brad) Klein and their children, Ayden, Cole, and Parker of Urbandale; son, Michael (Abby) and their children, Beau and Lola of Castle Rock, CO; sister, Diane (Rock) Greene; brothers, Jeff (Julie) and Doug (Pat) Larson.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Algie “Bud” and Thelma (Fevold) Larson.

John was born October 7, 1953, in Fort Dodge. He was raised in Humboldt and graduated from Humboldt High School. He then attended radiology school in Des Moines. For over 38 years John worked in radiology for Trinity Regional Medical Center until 2016. John was united in marriage to Dee (Westerman) Van Gundy in 2006 and the couple made their home Fort Dodge.

To know him was to love him. John’s wit, humor and charm made everyone around him laugh or smile and whether you had known him your entire life or 5 minutes, he would find a way to leave an impact. It seems anyone who knew John had a story to tell about him. He truly cherished every moment he had with friends and family. Whether it was tailgating at the Cyclones games, watching his grandkids run around and play, working on projects with his kids or hanging out on the patio with a cold one and stogie. John had a passion for life that was undeniable. He truly was the best husband, father, papa any family could ask for.
