KIRK GUTKNECHT

Kirk Gutknecht, 60, passed away at home on Monday, April 12th, 2021. He was born in Fort Dodge on April 25th, 1960 to Gene and Donna (Guenther) Gutknecht. He attended Fort Dodge Senior High, afterwards he joined the Army where he had the opportunity to spend time overseas in Germany. He was a graduate of Dunwoody College with an electrical license.

Kirk enjoyed hunting and fishing with his father growing up, as an adult he spent time at Mud Lake enjoying the quiet peacefulness of the remote area where he remembered his father best. He spent his last days looking for ways to give back to those who brought him joy, donating money, buying meals, groceries and dog food for random strangers or someone who appeared to need a hand up; paying it forward by giving back to those serving the community.

Survived by his sister Kris (Tom) England of Universal City, TX and Lori (Bob Randall) Hansen of Rockwell City, as well as six nieces and nephews and fourteen great-nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Gene and Donna Gutknecht. A celebration of life will be held at a later time.
