PETER R. HEESCH

Funeral services will be held on Tuesday January 19th at 10:30 AM at St. Paul Lutheran Church. Burial will be at North Lawn Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Monday from 4:00 to 7:00 PM at Laufersweiler Funeral Home.

Survivors include his wife Pam of Fort Dodge, daughters Rae Ressler of Fort Dodge, Julie Prewitt of Fort Dodge, son Neil Heesch of CA, stepson Jay Ricke of Fort Dodge, 11 grandchildren, 9 great grandchildren, sisters Mibbs Heesch of AZ, Kate Carmean of OK, brother Sam (Fay) Heesch of ID, several nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Peter was preceded in death by his parents Raymond Edward and Leola Faye (Brown) Heesch, son Matt Heesch, and his brother Errol “Bud” Heesch.

Peter Ray Heesch was born on January 9, 1935 in Lake City. He was raised and educated there and graduated from Lake City High School in 1954. Following his education, he became a mechanic and worked for the Fort Bus Barn and for the ambulances at the hospital. Peter was also an EMT at Trinity Regional Medical Center numerous years, retiring in 2014. On September 9, 1988 he was united in marriage to Pam PeCoy and the couple established their home in Fort Dodge. In his youth, before his family became his number 1 priority, Pete was very involved in racing cars. Stock cars, dirt track racing, figure 8, he loved them all. He was later inducted into the Mineral City Speedway Hall of Fame. Pete also enjoyed photography in his free time.

The family would like to thank the Home Health Care staff and the staff at Trinity Regional Medical Center for their kindness and caring during Pete’s time with them.
