Dennis R. Crotts, 76, of Fort Dodge, died Friday, September 11, 2020, at his home.

Cremation rites will be accorded with Gunderson Funeral Home & Cremation Services. A service honoring Dennis’ life will be held at a later date.

Dennis is survived by his wife Nancy; his sons, Barton (Sarah) Crotts, John Crotts and Daniel Crotts, all of Fort Dodge; five grandchildren, Jessica (Don) Watts, Kaylee Bell, Sydney Crotts, Malachai Crotts and Alexander Crotts; his siblings, Gerald Crotts, Florida; Leola Goodwin, Farnhamville; Jeanne Mericle, Colorado; and David Crotts, Grinnell. He was preceded in death by his son Dennis D. Crotts, his parents, his brothers, Thomas, (twins) Darrell & Dale, and Donald.

Dennis Ray Crotts, the son of Ora D. and Odile A. (Hogan) Crotts, was born September 3, 1944, in Fort Dodge. He attended St. Edmond Catholic School and graduated from Fort Dodge Senior High in 1962. Dennis served for three years in the United States Army and served 13 years in the Army National Guard. On October 29, 1965, Dennis was united in marriage to Nancy Kloss at Vermillion, South Dakota. Dennis was employed with Celotex, with Hormel Company until their closing, and then again with Celotex, from where he retired. He also worked part time at Iowa Central Community College in the maintenance department.

Dennis liked spending time on his computer while playing a good game of Chess. He liked to fish, was an avid mushroom hunter and enjoyed cooking the mushrooms he found. Dennis enjoyed his dogs and especially treasured his children and grandchildren.
