CATHERINE WOOD

Catherine Wood, 100, of Fort Dodge, went to be with her Lord and Savior peacefully on Saturday, September 19, 2020, at Friendship Haven.

Memorial services will be 10:00 AM on Saturday, September 26, 2020, at the Gunderson Funeral Chapel with Rev. David Barton officiating. A time of gathering of family and friends will be from 9:00 AM to 10:00 AM on Saturday at the Gunderson Funeral Home and Cremation Services. The Wood family requests that face masks be worn at all times. Inurnment will be in the North Lawn Cemetery.

Catherine Reis, the daughter of Jacob and Catherine (Rheul) Reis, was born December 10, 1919, in Denver, CO. Catherine was united in marriage to Walter Wood. She was a homemaker and wife, raising four children. She enjoyed sewing, knitting, making bears, fishing and crocheting. As graduation gifts, each grandchild received one of her afghans. Walter passed away in 2004 after 66 years of marriage. She was a member of the Rolling Hills Community Church in Fort Dodge. For the past 2¢ years, Catherine has made her home at Friendship Haven.

Survivors include Walter (Janis) Wood and William (Fran) Wood, both of Fort Dodge, daughter Joyce (Gary) Van Arsdale of Richland, WA; 8 grandchildren, and several great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren and now great-great-great grandchildren. Catherine is preceded in death by husband Walter Wood, their daughter Rosemary Wood, and all of her siblings.

Memorial may be left to the discretion of the family.
