MARJORIE SMITH

Marjorie Smith, 95, formerly of Fort Dodge, died August 12, 2020 at the Crestview Nursing & Rehabilitation in Webster City.

Visitation will be held from 1:00 p.m – 3:00 p.m. Saturday, August 15, 2020 at Gunderson Funeral Home. Private interment will be held in North Lawn Cemetery.

Marjorie Christine Tindle, the daughter of Charles and Martha (Batz) Tindle, was born January 21, 1925 in Cherokee, Iowa. She was married to Robert Holmes on January 10, 1944 and to this union they had 3 children; Robert, Joyce and Linda. The couple later divorced. On July 3, 1976 Marjorie married George Smith.

Survivors include her two brothers, Norman Roller and Clayton Roller; son Robert Holmes Jr. of Fort Dodge, daughter Joyce Kepler (LeRoy) of Nevada, son-in-law Corky Read of Otho; 4 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her mother Martha Roller, her daughter Linda Read, her husband George Smith and longtime companion Dean Sweet.

Marge enjoyed spending time with her family, dancing and traveling. She was best known for her infectious smile and delicious cooking and baking.
