LLOYD SCHREIER

MANSON — Lloyd Willis Schreier, 95, of Manson, passed away at his home April 11 from natural causes. Lloyd was born September 21, 1924 at his farm home in Manson, son of Frank and Anna Lang Schreier. He attended Lincoln School #8 in rural Manson and graduated from Manson High School in 1942. Lloyd served honorably in the U.S. Army Pacific Theater from 1944 to 1946.

Lloyd married Patricia Crawford in Barnum on April 11, 1951. They lived and farmed in the Manson area their entire life. He was very active in the community serving on the Manson School Board 1982-91, Director of the Webster Calhoun Cooperative Telephone Association 1976-86, North Central Telephone Association 1983-86, Superintendent Junior Beef Cattle Show Calhoun County Fair in Manson, member of the VFW and American Legion, active in the Crucillo Movement through the Sioux City Diocese and was a 4th Degree Member of the Knights of Columbus. He had the privilege of participating in the first Honor Flight out of Fort Dodge.

Lloyd loved to travel, fish, golf, and spend time at the casinos. He was an avid baseball fan and loved his St.Louis Cardinals. Among their many travels, he and Pat were able to attend many major league games including seeing the Washington Nationals, Colorado Rockies, Minnesota Twins, Milwaukee Braves, Kansas City Royals, Arizona Spring training, The Iowa Cubs and started many family games on the farm every summer.

Lloyd is survived by his wife of 69 years, Patricia, children Bev (Lynn) Schreiber, Fort Dodge, Ron (Pam) Schreier, Lakewood, Colorado, Dave (Linda) Schreier, Manson, Karen Roche, West Des Moines, Jean (Jon) Wiesley, Cedar Falls, Kevin (Jenny) Schreier, Somers, Donna (Bret) Clay, Boone, Larry Schreier, Manson, Fran (Jim) Ryan, Leawood Kansas, Rick (Nancy) Schreier, Story City, 25 grandchildren, 15 great grandchildren, sister Mardella Waller, brother LaVern, sisters in law Mary Schreier and Mary Ann Schreier, all of Manson, and many nieces and nephews. Lloyd was proceeded in death by his parents, brothers Mervin and Norman, brother in law Jim Waller, sister in law Patricia Jean Schreier and grandson Aaron Ryan.

Lloyd was a loving husband, father and grandfather. Most important to Lloyd was his family, his faith and his friends.

Private family mass and internment services will be held at this time with no visitation. A celebration of life will be held at a later date. Memorials may be directed to the family.
