RUTH MINER

Ruth Miner, 96, of Fort Dodge, IA entered her heavenly home on March 18, 2020 after a short illness.

Ruth Ethel Gleason was born January 2, 1925 in Rockwell City, Iowa to August and Florence Gleason. On March 26, 1950 she married John (Jack) Miner in Fort Dodge. Except for a brief time of living in York, Nebraska, Ruth lived the rest of her life in Fort Dodge. She was a long-time waitress including 32 years at the Starlite in Fort Dodge. Also Ruth and Jack started a storage business in Fort Dodge in 1979 which Ruth continued to operate after Jack’s death through the present date.

Ruth treasured her angel collection, loved flowers, loved to read, and most of all loved living on her acreage. She was a long-time member of Good Shepherd Lutheran Church in Fort Dodge.

Ruth is survived by her daughter Veronica Jarrett and husband Darrell Jarrett of Austin, Texas, her son Vincent Miner and wife Cathi Alexander-Miner of Columbus, Nebraska, brother Delbert Gleason of Ames, Iowa and many nephews and nieces and their families. She was preceded in death by her husband Jack who passed away in 1991, by her parents, her brother Kenneth Gleason and his wife Thelma, her sister-in-law Gloria Gleason and other family members in the Rockwell City area.

Memorials may be directed to Unity Point Hospice.

Due to the current state of pandemic, a memorial service will be planned for a later date. The Gunderson Funeral Home and Cremation Services are in charge of arrangements.
