ROBERT “BOB” THOMAS NEWTON II

HUMBOLDT — Robert “Bob” Thomas Newton II, 77 of Hum­boldt, passed away on Mon­day, February 10, 2020 at Iowa Meth­odist Med­ical Center in Des Moines.

Bob was born November 30, 1942 in Long Beach, California, the son of Robert Thomas and Bette (Wester) Newton. He attended Humboldt Schools, graduated from Humboldt High School and the School of Commerce in Omaha, Nebraska. He worked in sales for the family furniture business and later owned his own carpet business in Fort Dodge retiring from Flooring America in 2016. Bob enjoyed Civil War history, Elvis Presley, attending the University of Iowa Football games and fishing with friends in Canada

He leaves behind his sister, Sandra Back and his long-term friends in Humboldt and Fort Dodge. He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers, Verne Newton and Allen Newton.

Burial will be in Union Cemetery in Humboldt at a later date.
