SHERRIL BROWN

Sherril Brown, 80, of Fort Dodge, passed away on Saturday, January 18, 2020, at her home. Services will be 10:00 a.m. Friday, January 24, 2020, at Prince Of Peace Lutheran Church in Fort Dodge. A visitation will be held from 5-7 p.m., Thursday, January 23rd, 2020, at Gunderson Funeral Home and Cremation Services. Burial will take place at North Lawn Cemetery.

Sherril was born on August 28, 1939, to Earl Richard and Erika (Helgren) Messerly in Fort Dodge. She graduated from Fort Dodge Senior High School in 1958. Sherril Messerly was united in marriage to Thomas Brown on October 31, 1958, in Fort Dodge. Sherril worked at Target for 26 years before retiring in 1998. She enjoyed crafts and refinishing old furniture in her free time. Sherril was very passionate about her family and loved spending quality time with grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Sherril is survived by her husband, Tom; sons, Gary (Kim) Brown and Greg (Krisi) Brown; daughter, Julie (Bill) Ewing; grandchildren, Jennifer, Alyssa, Madde (Dan), Jayden, Logan, and Lukas; great-grandchildren, Jaelah, Brenley, Izzy, Tayden, Myles, and Levi; her sisters, Gloria Mastrangelo and Julie(John) Prather; and her brothers, Dennis (Syl) Messerly and Rick Grimm; her brothers-in-law, David (Ellen) Brown and Dr. Gene (Leora) Brown.

Sherril was preceded in death by her parents, Earl and Erika; her sister, Sue; and her brothers-in-law, Duane and Jerald.
