HENRIETTA D. BROWN

Henrietta D. Brown, 92, of Fort Dodge, died on Tuesday, January 21, 2020 at Journeys at Friendship Haven. A celebration of life will be held 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, January 29, 2020 at Gunderson Funeral Home and Cremation Services. A visitation will be held one hour prior to the service from 10-11:00 a.m. at Gunderson’s. Burial will take place at Memorial Park Cemetery.

Henrietta was born on July 2, 1927 to Henry and Mabel (Allen) Selk in Holstein, IA. She graduated from Harcourt High School in 1945. Henrietta Selk was united in marriage to Harry Walter Brown on June 22, 1947. Henrietta and Harry had 38 happy years of marriage before Harry died in 1985. Henrietta and Harry owned The Cycle Shop for their entire marriage. Motorcycles were her passion and she rode with Harry many times to Sturgis, SD and Okoboji. She also enjoyed biking, walking, volleyball, and basketball. Henrietta loved spending quality time with grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Henrietta is survived by her sons, Gene (Elon) Brown of St. Louis and Keith (Bonnie) Brown of Litchfield Park, Az; daughter, Barb Ramus of Fort Dodge, IA; grandchildren, Patrick (Cathy), Greg (Bridgett), Tim (Ellie), Jason (Jenny), Shawn (Jenny), Stacey (Jerrold), Matt (Megan), and Andrea (Daniel); great-grand children, Finn, Lua, Penelope, Juliette, Annabelle, Bella, Charlie, Harry, Etta, Wyatt, Owen, Logan, Aubrey, Hailie, Hunter, Brayden, Brody, Cael, Preslie, Thatcher, and Hayden; her brother, Henry Selk; and her sister, Doris Jones.

Henrietta was preceded in death by her husband, Harry; her parents, Henry and Mabel; her son-in-law, Denny; her brothers, Carl and Allen; and her sisters, Irene and Linda.
