MERIDITH SPERLING

LAKE CITY — On the morning of October 18, 2019, Jesus took Meridith Sperling, aged 79, to her eternal home with Him. Meridith was a long-term resident of Lake City, Iowa, an active member and Sunday School teacher in Pilgrim Lutheran Church of Lake City, an avid quilter and gardener, and retired from working at Dobson Organ Builders in Lake City. She was formerly a resident of New Ulm, Minnesota, and member of Redeemer Lutheran Church. Currently she was living and being cared for in Montrose, Colorado.

Meridith is survived by her brother Douglas Blanchard, five children Cindy Sperling (husband Steve Winslow), Sandra Schutte (husband Dennis), Randy Sperling (wife Marie), Becky Zenkovich and Sharon King (husband John), nine grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband Robert Sperling and brother David Blanchard. Meridith suffered from ALS, and while we, her family, rejoice with her that she has ended her suffering and gone to live in Paradise with her Lord and Savior, we mourn because we will sorely miss her.

Memorial services will be held at Pilgrim Lutheran Church in Lake City on Saturday, October 26, at 11:00 a.m. The family requests that, in lieu of sending flowers, donations be made to Hope West Hospice and Palliative Care of Montrose Colorado, 725 S. 4th Street, Montrose, CO 81401.
