IRVIN “BUD” FAIR

Irvin “Bud” Fair, 94, of Manson passed away Thursday, October 18, 2019 at his home surrounded by family. His wishes were to donate his body to science at the University of Iowa.

A Celebration of Life will be 9:00 to 11:00 AM Saturday, October 26, 2019 at Laufersweiler-Sievers Funeral Home. A reception will follow at the VFW in Fort Dodge.

Bud is survived by his wife, Angelina of Manson; children, Steve of Fort Dodge, Russ of Tulsa, OK and Tess (Mike) of Sacramento, CA; 6 grandchildren; 3 great-grandchildren; 1 great-great-grandchild; brother, Frank Rushton; sisters, Norene Sorenson and Pat Derrig all of Fort Dodge.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Marshall and Nora (Coan) Fair; son, Mike Fair; brother, Dean Rushton and sister, Betty Lou Rushton.

Irvin Ernest Fair was born December 17, 1924 in Bagley, IA. He lived in Missouri as a young child and at the age of 16 moved back to Fort Dodge. He worked various odd jobs until he started working at Tobin Packing Plant (later Hormel’s) in 1942. He worked there for over 40 years until it closed in 1986. He also worked for an asbestos removal company, ABC Lawn Care and Rosalez Lock & Key. On June 28, 1948 he was united in marriage to Angelina Rosalez at Wraywood Manor. Throughout his life, Bud had a passion for boxing and racing. He coached boxing from the early 80’s and coached for over 35 years with the Fort Dodge Boxing Club. Bud enjoyed gardening and had a passion for all animals.
