DOROTHY A. VETTEL

Dorothy A. Vettel 96, passed away Sunday, September 15, 2019, at Friendship Haven, Fort Dodge. Memorial Services will be 11:00 a.m., Thursday, Sept. 19, 2019, at the Celebration Center, Friendship Haven, Fort Dodge with Pastor Jim Davis officiating. Visitation will be at 10:00 a.m., Thursday at the Celebration until service time. Burial will be at North Lawn Cemetery, Fort Dodge prior to the service. Palmer Funeral Home, Gowrie is serving the family. Memorials may be left to the discretion of the family.

Dorothy is survived by her son, Dennis (Leola) Goodwin of Farnhamville; 4 grandchildren, Beth Ann Cross, Matt Goodwin, Jenny (Mike) Conrad, and Aimee (Brian) Jackson; 9 great-grandchildren; son-in-law, Jim Allen of Indianola; and sister, Alma Young of Bella Vista, AR; and other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her husband James Vettel; daughter Dee Ann Allen; her parents, Frank and Pearl (Tribby) Fuller; and siblings, Carl, Kenneth, Alvin, Mildred, and Goldie.

Dorothy Ann Fuller was born January 10, 1923 near Churdan, Iowa. She graduated from Lohrville High School, with the Class of 1941. In 1965, Dorothy moved to Fort Dodge where she worked as a dental assistant until her retirement in 1999. On December 15, 1972, she was united in marriage to James Vettel and the couple made their home in Fort Dodge. James passed away in 1998. In 2009, Dorothy made her home at Friendship Haven. She was a member of First United Methodist Church, Fort Dodge.
