IVAN HOLLMAN

Ivan Hollman, 71, of Fort Dodge, died July 7, 2019 in Fort Dodge after a 16-year battle with cancer.

Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Fri­day, July 12, 2019 at St. Olaf Lutheran Church. Interment will be held in Callender Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 4:00 – 7:00 p.m. Thursday at St. Olaf Lutheran Church. Gunderson Funeral Home & Cremation Services is entrusted with the arrangements.

Ivan Meinhard Hollman, the son of Meinhard and Bernice (Finck) Hollman, was born April 22, 1948 in Fort Dodge. He graduated in 1966 and attended ICCC. After college, Ivan served as a Staff Sergeant in the Air National Guard from 1968 -1974. On June 28, 1969, he was united in marriage to Pam Westre. The couple made their home, raised their family and farmed in the Burnside area. Ivan was a member of St. Olaf Lutheran Church and active on various church boards.

Ivan was a farmer for 49 years and co-owner of W&H Yorkshires with his brother Karl and father-in-law Dale Westre raising pure-bred Yorkshire hogs for 16 years. Ivan held many roles within the swine industry for Swine Graphics of Webster City, Iowa Select of Iowa Falls and Oak Lane of Dayton. For the past several years, Ivan has farmed with the Sandell and Blair families. Ivan spent his free time enjoying Okoboji with their “Boji” family and spending time with his grandson, Max. On weekends, you could find Ivan watching NASCAR. His love of motorsports included riding his doodle bugs, Cushman, Honda motorcycle, go carts, Model A car and his Corvette.

Survivors include his wife of 50 years, Pam Hollman; his children Jennifer Hollman (Chad Frantum) of Bayard, Jason Hollman (Jodie Michalski) of Fort Dodge, Jessica Hollman of Chicago, grandson Max Hollman of Fort Dodge, Erica Helmers (Max’s mother) of Fort Dodge, his brother Karl and Pat Hollman, nephews Brian and Steven and niece Emily. He was preceded in death by his parents Meinhard and Bernice Hollman and his niece Valerie Hollman.

Memorials may be left to the discretion of the family.
