MARY RISETTER

Mary Frances Risetter, 67, of Ankeny, formerly of Fort Dodge, passed away on Mon­day, April 29, 2019 in Ankeny.

Funeral services will be held on Satur­day, May 4th at 9:30 AM in the Chapel of the Laufersweiler-Sievers Funeral Home and 10:00 AM at Sacred Heart Church with Msgr. Kevin McCoy officiating the Mass of Christian Burial. Burial will be in Corpus Christi Cemetery. Visitation will be on Friday from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM with a Rosary prayed at 3:45 PM and Vigil Prayer Service at 7:00 PM all at Laufersweiler Funeral Home.

Survivors include her sons, Ryan (Dawn Richardson) Reeder of Fort Dodge; John J. (Anny VanDriel) Reeder of Claremont, CA; daughter, Melissa (Mitch) McNulty of Ankeny; son, Michael Reeder of Eugene, OR; and Christopher W. Reeder of Ankeny; grandchildren, Nolan, Ada, and Brecken; brothers, Randy Risetter of Fort Dodge; and Bill Risetter of Junction City, KS.

She was preceded in death by her parents, William L. and Helen A. (Nolan) Risetter; brothers, Jim Risetter and Ron Risetter; sisters, Jan Slama and Sue Risetter.

Mary Frances Risetter was born on April 9, 1952 in Fort Dodge. She attended schools here and graduated from St. Edmond High School in 1970. She later attended Iowa State University and graduated with B.S. Degree. Mary was a special education teacher for over 20 years employed with AEA 5. She was past member of St. Mary’s in Storm Lake and Holy Trinity Parish. Mary loved to be called “grammy” and always enjoyed time spent with her family.
