JUDY K. GERKEN

Funeral services will be 10:30 am Tuesday, May 21, 2019, at St. Paul Lutheran Church with Rev. Allen Henderson officiating. Burial will follow at Graceland Cemetery south of Fort Dodge. A visitation will be 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. Monday at Laufersweiler-Sievers Funeral Home.

Judy is survived by her husband, Dale Gerken of Fort Dodge; children, Lonnie Gerken of Fort Dodge and Sheri Gangstad (Bryce Plantz) of Twin Lakes; grandchildren, Tasha, Ashley and Tanner Gerken, Zachary Wilson, and Kaden Gangstad; great-granddaughter, Sophia; and sister, Ivadelle Praim of Gowrie.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Merle and Mamie (Garvey) Shaw; infant daughter, Gloria and infant son, Shannon; brothers, Dick Shaw and Walter Gray and sisters, Bonnie Rowe and Betty Gray.

Judy K. Shaw was born December 2, 1941 in Fort Dodge. She was raised and educated in Gowrie and graduated from Gowrie High School. On December 24, 1958, she was united in marriage to Dale Gerken at St. Paul Lutheran Church. They farmed together for over 58 years, eventually settling on the family farm south of Fort Dodge. The couple spent their winters in Arizona and Texas for over 20 years. Judy was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church and enjoyed her coffee group at Tom Thumb.
