Mary K. Drown, 91, of Fort Dodge, IA, died Monday, April 8, 2019, at Friendship Haven. A private family graveside service will be held at Memorial Park Cemetery. Memorials may be directed to the family. Online condolences may be left for the family at www.brucesfuneralhome.com.
Mary Kathryn was born July 1, 1927, in Fort Dodge, the daughter of David Martin and Mary Agnes (Vit) Ertl. She graduated from Corpus Christi Academy in 1945. On March 31, 1950, she was united in marriage to George Clifford Drown in Fort Dodge. Mary worked as a bookkeeper for Wonder Bread until her retirement in 1975. Mary enjoyed spending time with her family – especially her great grandson. She also enjoyed her card groups, bowling and crafts. She was a member of the WBA (Woman’s Bowling Association).
Mary is survived by her son: Richard Drown and wife Carmen of Wichita, KS; 2 grandchildren: Renee Drown of Fort Dodge and Deborah Drown of Wichita; great grandson: Brayden Dennis of Fort Dodge; 4 siblings: Jim Ertl and wife Barb of Fort Dodge, Margaret Laird of Fort Dodge, Nancy Horstmyer of Arcadia, CA, and Charles Ertl and wife Judy of Phoenix, AZ.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband in 2016; infant son: George Jr., 7 siblings: Jack Ertl, Veronica Lunn, David Ertl, Betty Moberly, Joyce Ashton, Frances Menefee and Jerome Ertl.
