WAYNE D. RAPP

RENWICK — Wayne Dale Rapp, the son of Dale Arthur and Pauline Evelyn (Folkerts) Rapp, was born on January 11, 1943 in Kanawha, Iowa. He received his education in Renwick, graduating from Renwick High School in 1959. He then served four years in the United States Marine Corp.

On July 30, 1964, Wayne was united in marriage to Mary Johnson at the United Methodist Church in Renwick. The couple made their home in Renwick, Ames and in 1972, they moved to Orlando, Florida, where Wayne worked as a lineman for Florida Power. The couple returned to Renwick when he retired in 2005.

Wayne was a member of the Renwick United Methodist Church and the Viona Lodge 538, A.F. & A.M. He enjoyed fishing, playing golf and bowling — playing on many leagues over the years. Wayne also played pitcher and left fielder on a men’s fast pitch softball team.

Wayne passed away on Saturday, January 5, 2019, at his home in Renwick, at the age of 75 years. He was preceded in death by his parents; son, Dennis Rapp; grandsons, Travis and Francisco; sister, Linda Sue Rapp; brother, Dennis Rapp and wife Marilyn, and brother-in-law, Roger Thompson.

Survivors include his wife, Mary Rapp of Renwick; sons, David Schoon of Pageland, SC, and Darold Schoon (Cathy) of Manson; daughters, Darla Rapp of Gainesville, GA and Dawn Rapp of Renwick; 16 grandchil

dren; 25 great grandchildren; two sisters, Arlis Gimer and husband Gene of Lohrville and Lois Thompson of Webster City and many nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, January 9, 2019, at 11:00 a.m. at the Renwick United Methodist Church with Pastor Jim Sweers officiating. Visitation will be Tuesday from 5:00 -7:00 p.m. at the Renwick United Methodist Church with a Masonic service at 7:00 p.m. Burial will be in the Clinton-Garfield Cemetery in Rolfe.

Memorials may be left to the discretion of the family.
