JOHN HALBACH

Francis “John” Halbach, 84, of Fort Dodge, died December 15, 2018 at Iowa Meth­odist Med­ical Center.

Visit­ation will be held from 5:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m. Wed­nesday, December 19, 2018, at Gunderson Funeral Home & Cremation Services. Interment and military honors will be held 11:00 a.m. Thursday at North Lawn Cemetery.

John Halbach was born February 4, 1934. He was baptized at First Baptist Church. He served in the Marines and later served in the U.S. Army. He worked various jobs throughout his life. John enjoyed bowling, fishing, yardwork, gambling and time spent with family.

Survivors include his wife of 28 years Violet Halbach of Fort Dodge, his step-son Harold Graves Jr., grandchildren Harold III “Pee-Wee” (Robin), Brady, Adam, Brian (Cassie), Erin (Jason), Nick (Erica); great-grandchildren Ethan, Austin, Callie, Keegan, Madyson, Tyler, Josh, Missy (George), Katelyn, Kayla; great-great granddaughter Athena. Also surviving are several children from previous marriages.

Memorials may be left to the discretion of the family.
