RODNEY R. DENCKLAU

Rodney R. Dencklau, 67, of Vincent, died Wednes­day, July 4, 2018, in Rochester, Minnesota.

A service honoring Rod­ney’s life will be 11:00 a.m. Thursday, July 12, at the Gunderson Funeral Chapel. Interment will follow in Colfax Township Cemetery. Military honors will be presented by V.F.W. Post No. 1856.

Rodney is survived by his children, Robyn Dencklau, Wendy Dencklau and Rusty Dencklau; grandchildren, Courtney, Kyle, Max and Emma; and brothers, Bob Dencklau and Ross (Lisa) Dencklau. He was preceded in death by his parents, grandparents and cousin Ronnie Dencklau.

Rodney R. Dencklau, the son of Robert and Katheryn (Maier) Dencklau, was born July 18, 1950, in Fort Dodge. He graduated from Eagle Grove High School in 1968, and then served in the Iowa Army National Guard. Rodney worked at the Vincent Cooperative until 1979 when he moved to Minnesota where he farmed. He also worked at Lampert Yards in Farmington, Minnesota before moving to Las Vegas. He lived in Louisiana and did carpentry work with his brother before returning to Fort Dodge to care for his parents.

Rodney enjoyed bowling, camping, fishing and working in his yard.
