Bernard J. Stuhrenberg, 89, of Fort Dodge passed away Friday, July 27, 2018 at the Marian Home.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday, August 2nd at 10:00 AM in the Chapel of the Laufersweiler-Sievers Funeral Home and 10:30 AM at Sacred Heart Church for a Mass of Christian Burial with Msgr. Kevin McCoy, officiating. Burial will follow at Corpus Christi Cemetery. Visitation will be on Wednesday from 4:00 to 7:00 Pm with a Vigil Prayers Service at 7:00 PM all at Laufersweiler Funeral Home.

Bernard is survived by his wife, Patricia Stuhrenberg; children, Marvin (Brenda) Stuhrenberg of Mt. Auburn; Dean (Connie) Stuhrenberg of Duncombe; Keith (Betty) Stuhrenberg of Barnum; Don (Rhonda) Stuhrenberg of Des Moines; Alecia (Jerry) Eslick of Adel; Tracy (Kurt) Devries of Burnside; and Tim (Stacey) Stuhrenberg of Fort Dodge; 16 grandchildren; 8 great grandchildren; brother, Maurice Stuhrenberg of Charlotte, NC; and sisters, Mary Agnes Husske, Helen Rathouz, Lucille Peterson, Marie Stuhrenberg, and Elizabeth Lawler all of Fort Dodge.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Clement and Matilda (Hessler) Stuhrenberg; daughter, Karen Louise Stuhrenberg; brothers, Alvin Stuhrenberg and Vincent Stuhrenberg; sister, Dorothy Husske; and infant sister, Louisa Stuhrenberg.

Bernard J. Stuhrenberg was born February 11, 1929 in Duncombe. He graduated from Duncombe High School in May of 1947. In 1952, he served in the United States Army during the Korean Conflict and was honorably discharged in 1953. Following the military, Bernard farmed in the Barnum, Duncombe, and Fort Dodge areas for nearly 50 years, until his retirement in 2003. On November 15, 1955 he was united in marriage to Patricia Husske. Bernard was a member of Sacred Heart Church, Colfax Twp. Committee, New Coop, and the Farm Bureau.
