ALEX “BEANZ” DENCKLAU

ALEX “BEANZ” DENCKLAU

On June 14, 1991, a son was born to Jennie and Brian Dencklau; after having four daughters, they were happy to have a son. This son died, Monday, May 28, 2018, saving the love of his life, Mika.

Alex met his match in his wife, Mika. The two married at Sacred Heart Church in Fort Dodge on June 11, 2016. Their love story involved jumping off of cliffs, swimming with whale sharks, countless hunting trips and an amazing, story-filled Jeep trip to Colorado. They dreamed of creating a beautiful home and family together while sharing their lives with family and friends.

Alex David Dencklau “Beanz” was born at Trinity Regional Medical Center in Fort Dodge where he grew up at his family’s home. He would explore the woods and build forts in the trees, go on endless adventures, and tested the limits of unconditional love and first aid kits. He attended Saint Edmond Schools and charmed his way to graduation in 2009. As an active 4-H member, he learned to set goals and to do the hard work necessary to meet those goals. He especially fell in love with woodworking and would carry those skills with him throughout life.

His college years were spent at ICCC where he received a degree in Auto Body Collison and DMACC for a degree in Agricultural Studies. His agricultural degree led him to Valero Renewable Fuels where he worked for the last 5 years. Alex was a member of the Knights of Columbus, alongside his dad.

Alex had the talent to build, design, and repair anything. If he didn’t know how to do something, he would research it until he had a flawless plan. He was the hardest working and most talented man any of us have ever known. He was a perfectionist to the most annoying extent.

Alex was loyal, compassionate and selfless. To his siblings, he was a best friend; to his friends, he was a brother. He would do anything for the people he loved.

Alex is survived by his wife whom he loved deeply, Mika Dencklau; blessed parents, Brian Dencklau and Jeannine (Beshey) Dencklau; OVERBEARING and incredibly proud older sisters, Emily Dencklau, Katie (Nathan) Schelle, Jenna (Jerome) Matton; pseudo-twin sister, Susan (Nick) McDonald, and adoring baby brother, Clint Dencklau; grandmothers, Charlotte Blankenhagen and Rita Beshey. He is the loving uncle of Haley, Tessa, Gavin, Aubreigh, Tuck, Lauren, Claire, Josie, Jillian, and Julia. He is also survived by in-laws, Carlen and Tracy Rodewald and Morgan (Jon) Fitzgerald; many aunts, uncles, cousins and the absolute best friends a guy could ask for.

He was preceded in death by his grandfathers, Marlin Dencklau, Wayne Beshey, and Demar Blankenhagen; cousins, Heather Scherff and Jacob Dreier.

Memorials may be left to family discretion. In lieu of flowers and plants, consider donating a tree to be planted in Alex’s honor. A fund for this memory has been setup at Becker’s Florist.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:30 am Friday, June 8th at Sacred Heart Church, with Rev. Patrick Behm officiating. Burial will follow at Concordia Cemetery. Visitation will be on Thursday from 4:00 to 8:00 PM at Sacred Heart Church with a Vigil Prayer service beginning at 7:30 PM. Laufersweiler-Sievers Funeral Home is serving the family.
