KEVIN NEAL NELSON

Preceded in death by his mother and father, Ida (Askvig) & Curtis Nelson, his brother, Vance Nelson, and former spouses, Mary Kathleen Beeson and Mary Therese (Lacaeyse) Nelson.

Kevin served in the Viet Nam war as a member of the U.S. Marines from 1968-1969.

Kevin’s departure leaves hundreds on earth who will always love him. His wife, Joan (Litersky) Nelson, carries his love with her. His siblings, Tena (Nelson) Rosendahl, Eloise (Nelson) Benson, Royal Nelson, and Conley Nelson, will cherish the memories of their big brother.

Daughters, Kris (Nelson) Michel and Anna Nelson, are so lucky to have called Kevin their dad. Grandchildren, Logan Michel, Karly Michel, Noel Michel, Kathleen Vandekieft, and Lulu Vandekieft, are forever grateful to their grandpa for instilling a love of science, an appreciation for independence & risk taking, and above all, knowing that constraints are to be questioned and limits are to be exceeded.

Services will be held Saturday, February 24, 2018. 11:00 a.m. graveside service at Glenwood Cemetery, Goldfield, Iowa, followed by luncheon reception at United Presbyterian Church.

No flowers or gifts please. Donations can be made in Kevin’s name to The Nature Conservancy.
