JANE E. HORN

Jane E. Horn, 64, of Fort Dodge, passed away on Friday, July 21, 2017, at the Paula J. Baber Hospice Home after a courageous 7-year battle with cancer.

A Cele­bra­tion of Life will be held on Tuesday, July 25, 2017, from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM in the Chapel of the Laufersweiler-Sievers Funeral Home.

Survivors include her husband, Greg Horn of Fort Dodge, and her son Chaz Vance of Fort Dodge; granddaughter, Drew of Fort Dodge; step-son, Jacob Horn of Fort Dodge; brothers, Chuck “Marlene” Stuppy of Stuart, FL; and Bob “Marisa” Stuppy of Murrieta, CA.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Charles and Leslie (Stiles) Stuppy; daughter, Margaret “Maggie” Vance; sisters, Chris Holst and Betty Jean Cross.

Jane Ellen Stuppy was born on July 15, 1953, in Benton Harbor, MI. As a young child she moved with family to South Bend, IN. She attended schools there and graduated from Lasalle High School. Jane went to work for Osco Drug and also a florist. She was united in marriage to Stephen Vance and the couple established their home in Cedar Rapids and Mason City, before moving to Fort Dodge. They were later divorced. On September 2, 2000, Jane married Greg Horn and the couple made their home on a farm north of Fort Dodge. The most important thing in her life was her family. Jane worked at A-1 Home Health Care until retiring. She enjoyed reading, knitting, and gardening. In Lieu of flowers the family requests that memorials may be left to the Paula J. Baber Hospice Home.
