One killed in Humboldt County crash

HUMBOLDT — One person was killed in a crash Wednesday afternoon on Iowa Highway 3 east of Humboldt.

The Iowa State Patrol has not released the individual’s name, pending the notification of their family.

The crash happened at 1:11 p.m. Wednesday on Iowa Highway 3 between Quebec and Roosevelt avenues.

Troopers reported that a 2020 Ford Edge was eastbound on the highway when it crossed the center line. They reported that the driver overcorrected, which sent the car into a ditch. There, it hit a driveway and rolled over multiple times.

A section of the highway was completely closed for about an hour following the crash.

The State Patrol was assisted at the scene by the Humboldt County Sheriff’s Office and the Humboldt Fire Department.
