Man found injured after stabbing report
ELLSWORTH — One man was found with cuts and lacerations Tuesday in a car near Iowa Highway 175 and Tollman Avenue after reports of a stabbing, according to a press release from the Hamilton County Sheriff’s Office.
The Sheriff’s Office was dispatched to the area at 1:55 p.m. Tuesday for a report of a man who had been stabbed. There, they found a man inside a car in a ditch along with two other uninjured occupants.
The injured man was transported to Mary Greeley Medical Center in Ames by the Jewell Fire and Rescue for treatment of non-life threatening injuries, including cuts and lacerations.
It is unclear what caused the injuries, what chain of events led to them or who may have been criminally implicated by them. No arrests were reported. Sheriff Douglas Timmons could not be reached for comment.
The Sheriff’s Office said there is no threat to public safety as it investigates the matter alongside the Iowa Division of Criminal Investigation.
