Stein faces meth, weapons charges

Dustin Stein, 30, of 678 Maple St. in Lehigh, has been charged with possession with intent to deliver more than5 grams of methamphetamine and carrying weapons.

The charges stem from a May 2 traffic stop in the 100 block of North 13th Street in Fort Dodge where, according to the complaint, police found several baggies containing a white crystal powder that tested positive for methamphetamine. In addition, they also found a scale and substance commonly mixed with methamphetamine.

In addition, officers found a concealed knife with a blade longer than 5 inches in the driver’s door.

Magistrate William Thatcher scheduled a preliminary hearing and bond review for Friday. Bond was set at $100,000 for the methamphetamine charge, a class B felony, and $2,000 on the weapons charge an aggravated misdemeanour.
