Board sent to District Court

A man accused of leading Fort Dodge police in a chase through town had his case sent to Webster County District Court Thursday following his initial appearance.

Kevin D. Board, 25, of Fort Dodge, was released from jail on his own recognizance.

Board is facing a number of charges in connection with a high speed motorcycle chase in Fort Dodge Wednesday afternoon.

He allegedly didn’t stop when officers attempted to pull him over for speeding in the 800 block of South 22nd Street, according to Assistant Police Chief Kevin Doty.

After a short pursuit, Board was taken into custody after losing control of his motorcycle in the 300 block of South 17th Street.

No injuries were reported in the chase.

As officers took Board into custody, they allegedly found both marijuana and a glass pipe on him.

Board is facing charges of eluding, possession of marijuana, no insurance, speeding and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Magistrate William Habhab allowed Board to be released with the promise to come back to his next court appearance on the eluding and possession of marijuana charges, which will be scheduled at a later time.

The no insurance, speeding and possession of drug paraphernalia charges were continued for 180 days.
