Man accused of strangling two kids
A Fort Dodge man has been charged with two felonies after he allegedly put his hands around the necks of two children.
Anthony D. Essing, 29, 311 Ave. D, has been charged with two counts of child endangerment causing bodily injury.
It’s alleged that on Monday Essing put his hand around the neck of a 13-year-old and a 2-year-old child.
“This act was intended to temporarily obstruct the child’s air way, also known as strangulation,” the criminal complaints against Essing stated. “The child’s neck also had visible bruising and markings from the defendant’s hand.”
At his initial appearance in Webster County Magistrate Court Tuesday, Magistrate Steve Kersten allowed Essing to be released with supervision to the Department of Adult Corrections. Kersten also issued a no-contact order between Essing and the two children.
Essing’s case was sent to Webster County District Court.
