Fire reported at downtown gazebo
A small fire was ignited in the gazebo on the Fort Dodge City Square early Wednesday morning.
The fire was reported at 12:26 a.m.
Fire Chief Steve Hergenreter said a man removed combustible materials from a garbage bin, placed them in the gazebo and lit them on fire. The fire was reported by a citizen driving nearby, he said.
The fire was quickly put out. A large black stain on the concrete floor of the gazebo appears to be the only damage.
