Snowmobiles, OHV registrations due

Webster County Recorder Lindsay Laufersweiler would like to remind snowmobile and off-highway vehicle owners that they may renew their current registrations for the 2023 season for a fee of $17.75.

All snowmobiles operating on any public land (including ditches), ice or trail must also display an Iowa DNR resident user permit decal for an additional fee of $17.75.

The current registrations expire Dec. 31, 2022.

A penalty of $5 will be added to registrations after Dec. 31. Snowmobile and off- highway vehicle owners should not operate machines with an expired registration and may receive a citation.

Renewals may be mailed to: Webster County Recorder, 701 Central Ave, Fort Dodge, IA 50501 or dropped off in the Webster County drop box located in the east alley between the courthouse and The Messenger. Please also include the vehicle identification number (VIN) and/or IA number of the machine(s) being renewed, as well as a telephone number. We will also process renewals over the phone with a credit card (3 percent surcharge added). All registrations will be charged an additional $1 postage if mailed, called in or dropped off in the drop box.

Renewal notices will not be sent through the mail. If you have provided your email address, you will also receive an email reminder as well.
