Fort Dodge Correctional Facility on ‘restricted movement’
Over this last weekend, a physical altercation among multiple groups of inmates at the Fort Dodge Correctional Facility led the prison to go to “restricted movement” status, according to Nick Crawford, communications director for the Iowa Department of Corrections.
“Because of the rapid and effective response by staff at the facility, the situation was quickly brought under control,” Crawford told The Messenger. “No serious injuries were reported by staff or inmates.”
Crawford said the prison will remain on restricted movement status while the investigation into the incident continues.
