Deck fire reported in Fort Dodge
A Fort Dodge resident was able to extinguish a fire on their back deck with a garden hose Wednesday night.
The fire at 3116 11th Ave. N. was reported at 11 p.m.
Fire Department Capt. Jeff Hill said the fire burned an area of about 4 feet on the deck. He said the resident had put the fire out before firefighters arrived. Firefighters soaked down embers on and below the deck.
Fort Dodge police also responded to the scene.
