UnityPoint clarifies non-essential services
UnityPoint Health — Trinity Regional Medical Center has issued clarifying language surrounding its initial announcement postponing all non-essential services during the pandemic to reduce the spread of COVID-19 infections.
“Trinity’s service lines remain open for services deemed urgent, emergent or medically necessary,” said Alyssa Stanek, communications specialist. “We are only postponing non-essential appointments.”
A simple rule of thumb: patients will be contacted if their appointment needs to be postponed.
The following departments are open for essential services only during this time:
• Diabetes center.
• Sleep center.
• Outpatient therapy services (including physical therapy, occupational therapy, speech therapy and lymphedema therapy).
• Infusion center.
• Wound center.
• Cardiac pulmonary rehabilitation.
• Respiratory care.
The above list is exhaustive of all departments affected by the temporary shift in service.
