Sewer project is on Fort Dodge City Council agenda

A contract for a major sewer improvement project on the city’s south side will come before the Fort Dodge City Council on Monday.

The council meeting will begin at 5 p.m. in the Municipal Building, 819 First Ave. S., with a workshop on the Iowa Governmental Health Care Plan.

The council’s business meeting will begin at 6 p.m. in the Municipal Building. During that session the council will consider awarding a contract for new sanitary sewers, storm sewers and water mains along 13th Avenue South east of 25th Street. Crow River Construction, of New London, Minnesota, submitted the apparent low bid of about $2.4 million.

Also on Monday, the council will consider approving some loan agreements that would pay for some purchases and programs. The two biggest items to be financed are three new police vehicles for $145,000 and a building demolition fund of $100,000.
