Utility pole catches fire
A utility pole in the 2400 block of 18th Avenue North caught fire at about 12:15 p.m. Wednesday, according to Geoff Greenwood, spokesman for MidAmerican Energy Co.
Crews with MidAmerican determined that an insulator on the pole failed, Greenwood reported.
The insulator was replaced.
One customer was affected by the brief outage.
Power was restored by about 1:30 p.m.
Greenwood said MidAmerican plans to replace the damaged pole.
