Jordan Erie is the newest full-time paramedic in the Fort Dodge Fire Department.

The City Council approved his hiring Monday evening.

He had been working part-time for the Fire Department since July 2018.

“We’re very excited to have him come and be a member of our team full-time,” Fire Chief Steve Hergenreter told the council.

For the past four years, Erie has worked full-time as a paramedic at Van Diest Medical Center in Webster City. He has also worked part-time for the Humboldt County Memorial Hospital.

He is a native of Humboldt who graduated from Iowa Central Community College. In addition to his paramedic certification, he is trained in pre-hospital trauma life support and neonatal resuscitation.
