King Ringers to perform Friday

The King Ringers English Handbell concert, Welcome Spring, will be performed at 7:30 p.m. Friday at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church, 1436 21st Ave. N. Scott Johnston will narrate “Immanuel” by Dobrinski of the birth of Jesus, His crucifixion and resurrection. “Hallelujah” from the “Messiah” by Handel arranged by Thompson and “Cantad al Senor” arranged by Krug will also be presented. On a lighter vein, George M.Cohan’s “Grand Old Yankee Doodle Extravaganza” arranged by Dan Edwards will also be heard. People familiar with PDQ Bach will enjoy PDQ Bells arranged by Kevin McChesney which includes “Eine Kleine Whatwasthat?” “I Won’t Tell Overture,” “Elise’s Furballs,” plus other oddly familiar tunes. Other moving melodies will be “Chicken Dance” and “Three Patriotic American Hymns.” Joan Arndt, Judy Zoch, and Danielle McKim will perform “A Mighty Fortress Is Our God” and Janine Neimeyer will solo with “The Old Rugged Cross.” Freewill offerings will be accepted. Refreshments will be served.
