Hearn retires from Recorder’s office

Shelly Hearn, first deputy Webster County recorder, has retired after 30 years of service to the county.

Hearn was thanked for her service by County Recorder Lindsay Laufersweiler at the Webster County Board of Supervisors meeting Tuesday.

“She has been through many changes in the office, from the time of writing everything in books to computer software,” Laufersweiler said. “Her knowledge and service to the citizens of Webster County will be very much missed.”

The county will lose a wealth of knowledge with her retirement, Laufersweiler said.

The office will now look to hire a new full-time clerk.
