WEST BEND — The 10th and final Mindy’s Miles bicycle ride will be held Saturday in West Bend.

Registration is $25 and includes a Mindy’s Miles t-shirt and a free barbecue ticket. Registration opens at 8 a.m. and the ride begins at 9 a.m. at the West Bend Fire Station, located on Iowa Highway 15.

Some of the multiple stops along the way include Margaritaville in Ottosen, featuring Schmidt’s Catering.

A barbecue will be held at 11 a.m. after the ride at the Palo Alto County Cattlement, with a beverage garden at the fire department.

Farm Rock will provide live music starting at 1 p.m.

A free kids’ ride will include decorating bikes, and a stroll and activities around West Bend.

Proceeds will fund a Mindy’s Miles memorial and the West Bend Fire Department.

This bike ride has been dedicated to Mindy Bruellman, daughter of John and Cindy Bruellman. Mindy was 17 when she was killed along with her boyfriend Chris Gearhart, son of Glenn and Mary Gearhart, in a car accident in August of 2008.
