FD council to consider hiring ambulance personnel
The hiring of 11 new people to support the transition of ambulance service from UnityPoint Health — Trinity Regional Medical Center to the Fort Dodge Fire Department will be on the agenda for the City Council on Monday.
The council’s work will begin at 5 p.m. in the Municipal Building, 819 First Ave. S., with a special meeting on assessments charged to property tax bills to pay for cleaning up nuisances. The council levies such assessments several times a year.
At 5:30 p.m. the council will hold a workshop discussion on ongoing construction projects.
The council’s regular business meeting will begin at 6 p.m. in the Municipal Building. During the meeting, the council will consider hiring an emergency medical services division supervisor, three firefighter-paramedics and seven civilian paramedics or emergency medical technicians.
The Fire Department will assume responsibility for the ambulance service on July 1.
