Bridge replacement, housing plan on FD City Council agenda

A bridge replacement contract and an agreement with a firm that plans to build duplex homes are on the agenda for the Fort Dodge City Council on Monday.

The meeting will begin at 5 p.m. in the Municipal Building, 819 First Ave. S., with a workshop on an affirmative action plan.

Then at 5:30 p.m. there will be a workshop on the annual business retention report.

The council’s regular business meeting begins at 6 p.m. in the Municipal Building.

During that session the council will consider awarding a contract for the replacement of the North First Street Bridge. Christensen Brothers Inc., of Cherokee, submitted the apparent low bid of about $1 million.

The council is also expected to act on a development agreement that would give Gypsum Creek Crossing LLC about $4 million to reimburse it for the expense of putting in streets and utilities in the area where it plans to build duplex homes. That area is east of 32nd Street and south of 10th Avenue North.
