The Maschhoffs raise funds to benefit GoServ Global

EAGLE GROVE — GoServ Global, a faith-based organization, recently received a donation that will help the group build more modified grain bin homes in vulnerable communities throughout the world, according to a press release from The Maschhoffs LLC, of Carlyle, Illinois.

The Maschhoffs, a family-owned pork production network, teamed with its production partners to raise $14,000 in support of GoServ Global recently. GoServ Global is most commonly known for its Sukup Safe T Homes.

The homes are converted grain bins produced by Sukup Manufacturing Co., of Sheffield. They are designed to withstand hurricanes and earthquakes.

When Hurricane Matthew hit Haiti in Oct. 2016, about 200 Safe T Homes withstood the hurricane with minimal damage reported, Regan Emkes, communications specialist for The Maschoffs, said.

The homes also provided shelter to additional people who were left homeless.

The money raised by The Maschoffs and its partners will go towards constructing two more Safe T Homes.
