Bice elected chairman of trustees board

Judge Thomas Bice, of the 2nd Judicial District, has been elected president of the board of trustees of the National Conference of Bar Examiners.

The NCBE develops the tests that are used as part of the bar examination in almost every jurisdiction in the United States, according to a NCBE press release.

Bice has served on the board of trustees since 2008, the same year he was appointed a 2nd Judicial District judge.

Before his appointment, Bice was a private practice attorney in Fort Dodge for 36 years.

A Fort Dodge native, Bice has his undergraduate degree from the University of Iowa and graduated with honors from the Drake University School of Law.

He is also a member of the American Bar Association, the Iowa State Bar Association and the Iowa Judges Association. He is also a Judicial Fellow in the American College of Trial Lawyers and a Lifetime Fellow in the Iowa Academy of Trial Lawyers.
